East End Concert Features 'True And The Rhyte Hitters'
Rockaway resident True will perform as part of a concert series sponsored by City Councilman James Sanders, Jr. to bring local music to Far Rockaway. The concert, which will begin at 4:30 p.m. will be held at O'Donohue Park, Beach 17 Street and Seagirt Boulevard. True's performance will feature his new anti-violence rap song, "Headed For Self- Destruction." The song tells of "friends who become enemies and enemies who become friends." "All the violence gotta stop. We gotta get together because together, we can't be stopped," the song says. "You headed for selfdestruction. Now, they want to do battle and they will crack your rattle. You know you can't tame wild animals, they hit hard with fist of anvil. They ride through with rifles, they will take your life. The casualties of war - they win, you lose."
