Complex is Still a Disgrace,Surfside Resident Says

A resident of the Surfside Houses, who asked to remain nameless because she is afraid of retribution from management, submitted these photos to The Wave. The tenant says that the lawns and surrounding area of the three-building Complex show sign of an incomplete construction job. The Surfside houses are comprised of One Beach 105 Street, 106-20 Shore Front Parkway, and 107- 10 Shore Front Parkway. Pictured, piles of concrete are left exposed and unattended across the street from Key Food and the new Rite Aide Pharmacy, which is being built by Steve Valiotis, the owner of the complex as well.
These piles of broken concrete have been in place for more than a year, the resident says, adding that they are a danger to kids and animals. One resident told The Wave that her dog recently fell into a hole being dug for the new sprinkler system and was injured.
