Robert Stewart, a Rockaway resident for over 40 years, died August 20. He was 79.

Stewart was born in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies on August 10, 1928. He was a retired maintenance worker for Ocean Village.

Stewart is survived by his children, Cynthia, Ted and Hugh; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and friends and neighbors.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home. Interment was at Pinelawn Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York.
