Minnie Myles Pettway
Supervisor

Minnie Myles Pettway, a longtime Rockaway resident, died August 25. She was 75.

Pettway, who worked as a supervisor, was born in Alberta, Alabama on September 18, 1931. She was a lifetime members of the First Baptist Church in Redfern.

Pettway was preceded in death by her parents, Epheriam and Hannah Myles; daughter, Hannah Myles; and brothers, Epherian Myles and Lamar Myles.

She is survived by her daughter, Angela Pettway of Inwood; grandsons, Joel Gulley of Mobile, Alabama and Deion Brown of Inwood; granddaughters, Jasmine Gulley and Jacquel Gulley of Mobile, Alabama; brothers, William Myles, Eugene Myles and Freddie Myles of Long Island and Freeman Myles Sr. and Eddie Myles of Mobile, Alabama; sisters-in-law, Mattie Myles of Long Island and Margaret Myles of Mobile, Alabama; caretakers, Tiffany Taner of Far Rockaway and Viola Peeks of Hollis; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home, with visitation at First Baptist Church of Far Rockaway. Interment was at Amityville Cemetery.
