Grace McCabe, a Rockaway resident for more than 10 years, coming from Brooklyn, died August 23. She was 78.

McCabe, a cook for the New York City Board of Education, was born in Brooklyn.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Donald and Christopher Berry.

McCabe is survived by her son William F. Berry; daughters, Elaine Chandler, Madeline Trezza, Marie Smith and Patricia Leland; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home. AFuneral Mass was celebrated at St. Camillus Church. Interment was at St. Charles Cemetery.
