Primary Day Coming,Absentee Ballots Due

The New York State Board of Elections today reminded all New Yorkers who are eligible to vote on Primary Day, September 18, 2007, that if they will be out of their county or New York City, or will be unable to go to the polls because of illness or physical disability, they may vote by absentee ballot.

Voters will receive an absentee ballot after they complete an application and mail it to their county board of elections no later than Tuesday, September 11, or hand deliver it by Monday, September 17.

All completed absentee ballots must be postmarked by Monday, September 17 and received no later than Tuesday, September 25, at your county board of elections. Absentee ballots may also be hand delivered to your county board prior to the closing of the polls on Primary Day, September 18. Applications for absentee ballots are available at any county board of elections. Internet users can download an application by clicking on "Absentee Voting" on the New York State Board of Elections' website, www.elections. state.ny.us.
