for larger version       Police Pull Woman's Body From Water A woman's body was found Monday afternoon floating about one mile west of the Rockaway Point Jetty, police said. Police were called after someone spotted the body and called 911. Officers responded and recovered the body of the unidentified woman, described as white and in her 60s, from the water. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said there were no signs of trauma to the body. The Chief Medical Examiner's office will perform an autopsy. Results were not available at press time.
