Queens County Legionnaires Attend Convention

Preparing for the parade, from left to right, are Robert Reahl, Nassau County Commander, William Davison, 10th District Commander, Louis Rodriguez, Past Queens County Commander, and Reggie Butt Jr., Nassau County Aide.
A delegation from the American Legion Queens County Committee participated in the annual Department of New York Convention to elect new department officers and to vote on other issues concerning the American Legion. The new Department Commander for 2007-2008 is William Burnett. The new Queens County Commander, elected at the recent County Convention, is Thomas Winberry, from Post 1424 in Rego Park. The highlight of the Convention was the department parade. The Queens County contingent placed second this year, as did the Queens County Ladies Auxiliary, led by Penny Walsh. Our two local American Legion contingents, the Daniel M. O'Connell Post 272 in Rockaway, and Post 1404 from Broad Channel were both represented.
