Senator Malcolm Smith Honors Scholars

The Senator Malcolm A. Smith Community Scholarship Award was recently presented to the 2007 recipients by the Senator himself. The winners were selected based on community involvement, acceptance to an accredited college or university, an essay and biography, and the student's grade point average. This year's recipients were Carol Simon, Danielle Ramos, LaKesha Harris, and Kimberly Fontaine. Fontaine, pictured second from the left, is a Rockaway resident and a graduate of Townsend Harris High School.
