Garvey-Tubman Music Series Arrives

Councilman James Sanders Jr. will host the first-ever, Garvey- Tubman music series, with a September 7 show slated to take place at O'Donohue Park.

The concert series honors freedom fighters and American heroes, Marcus Garvey and Harriet Tubman. Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes will perform at the Far Rockaway concert, located in the park on Beach 17 Street and Seagirt Boulevard.

"Never before has such talent been brought to the 31st Council District," said Sanders. "I am excited to bring these superstars for your listening pleasure. Come out and enjoy music and entertainment with your families and friends. The residents of my district work very hard and deserve the best.

"I urge each and every one of you to come out and join me in having a great time at these historic concerts."

The August 4 concert featured a performance by R&B stars Black Ivory and Ray, Goodman & Brown.
