for larger version       Basketball Fundraiser Returns To Benefit Community Programs After a successful fundraiser last year, Jeffrey "Jazz" Moye has announced that there will be another event to help benefit recreational programs in Far Rockaway. The second annual JMI Securities Sports Invitational basketball game will take place on Saturday, September 8 at 12 p.m. The event will raise funds for Jazzy Sports Inc., an organization which has implemented recreational programs in Far Rockaway since 1976. The all-star basketball game will take place at Inwood Terrace Gardens Park. Moye says he was impressed by the success of last year's event and the cooperation by many of his fellow "The day was excellent. It (the event) was peace, harmony and all of the neighborhood became united in a good gesture," Moye said. At the conclusion of the all-star game, Jazzy Sports Inc. will inaugurate their 3-on-3 unlimited basketball tournament. Those would like to participate in the tournament must be 18 years and older. The cost is $100 as four players per team can register.
