Doo Wop Show Set For North Fork Theatre 9/ 8

Jay Siegel & The Tokens
Live Nation will present Dick Fox's Fall Doo Wop Extravaganza at the North Fork Theatre at Westbury on Saturday, September 8 at 8 p.m.

This season's show brings back the sounds of the fifties and sixties with an all star line up of doo wop acts from the early days of rock 'n' roll, starring eight different acts. So roll up your sleeves and slick back your hair for one more Saturday night out. Tickets begin at $35 and are available at the box office, Ticketmaster, charge by phone at 212-307-7171 or 631-888-9000 and online at www.livenation.com. For further information, call 516-334-0800. This season's Fall Doo Wop Extravaganza stars Jay Siegel & The Tokens, whose popular hit "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" has had 293,899 viewings on YouTube. The song first topped the charts in 1961, but it's popularity was renewed in 1994 when "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" was used in the Disney animated movie, The Lion King. Now a full time member of The Tokens, Jay Traynor, who was the original lead singer of Jay & the Americans, will also sing his hit single "She Cried."

A highlight of the show will be BROOKLYN REUNION featuring Emil Stuccio and The Classics, John Kuse & The Excellents and Joe Favale's Emotions. All three groups perform onstage at the same time, trading doo wop riffs from their collective hits, including: "Till Then," "Coney Island Baby" and "Echo." Also appearing at the Fall Doo Wop Extravaganza will be The Original Chantels, singing "Look In My Eyes;" The Legends of Doo Wop, The Dubs, crooning "Could This Be Magic;" Randy & The Rainbows featuring Randy Safuto, performing "Denise;" Johnny of Santo & Johnny, singing "Sleep Walk;" and Frankie Ford singing his hit single, "Sea Cruise."
