Eye Link To 'Revenge Movie'In Mutilation Slay
Investigators Believe 'Hard Candy' May Be Clue
By Howard Schwach

Investigators have come across a possible clue to the mutilation murder that left a Staten Island man dead in a Far Rockaway home and his stepdaughter holed up in a mental institution awaiting charges.

Sources say that investigators have found a posting by Brigitte Harris, 26, on a Web site that allows anybody to review movies.

Harris, who allegedly killed her stepfather, Eric Goodridge, 55, in revenge for a protracted history of sexual abuse against her and her sister, went on Flixter.com and posted a review of the movie "Hard Candy." That movie, experts say, is about a teen who evens the score with a photographer who she suspects had been sexually abusing teenage girls.

In her review, Harris gave the movie a "thumbs up," and called it a "perfect revenge movie."

Goodridge was bound and murdered after, sources say, Harris lured him to her apartment. He was found dead of gagging and neck compression. After his death, his penis was cut off and left at the scene.

"We're aware of [the movie review], and we're looking into it," an investigator close to the July 28 homicide case told Philip Messing, a reporter for the New York Post.

Harris, who has not yet been charged in connection with the murder, remains in a Staten Island mental hospital, where she fled shortly after the murder. Local legal experts say that Harris' online activity, including the E-bay purchase of 50 scalpels and a scalpel holder, in addition to the movie review, may well help in proving premeditation when and if charges are brought.

A spokesperson for Queens District Attorney Richard Brown told The Wave on Wednesday that there were no pending plans to bring charges while Harris is in the mental institution, but that things could change in the coming week.
