for larger version       Arlene Williams Arlene Williams, a Rockaway resident for more than 50 years, died August 2. She was 70. Williams, a homemaker, was born in Baltimore, Maryland on May 14, 1937. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Williams; son Walter Williams Jr.; daughter Carrie Williams; brother, James Queen; and sister, Alice Wiley. She is survived by her children Nancy and Anthony Williams and Edward Jones Sr.; grandchildren, Shannon and Shawn Marshall, Andiesha Williams, Christopher Wake, Edward Jones Jr., Taylor Jones and Deana and Ashley Clark; daughter-inlaw, Theresa Jones; and other family members and friends.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home, with the funeral wake at Gaffney's Friendship Chapel. Interment was at Calvary Cemetery.
