Click Here for More Information Marcella Elward Marcella Elward, a resident of Thomasville, Georgia and a former longtime Rockaway resident, died August 7. She was 98. Elward was born in Rathowen, County Westmeath, Ireland on October 31, 1908. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Church and a member of the Third Order . She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas. Elward is survived by her son, Thomas F. Elward; daughters, Joan M. Boes and Marcella M. Sitchenko; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and brother, Michael Tormey.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Donohue Cecere Funeral Home, 290 Post Avenue, Westbury, New York 11590. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 17 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. AMass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 18, 9:45 a.m. at St. Brigid's Roman Catholic Church, 50 Post Avenue, Westbury. Interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury.
