"Happy Feet"Brings Smiles At Outdoor Showing
By Miriam Rosenberg

It was a cool night, but Rockaway residents didn't let it bother them.
The chance to watch a story about a tap-dancing penguin brought out a large crowd to O'Donohue Park last Sunday, as the city's Parks and Recreation Department sponsored a free showing of the Academy Award-winning movie "Happy Feet."

Prior to the 8:30 p.m. start of the film, the Les Paultre Group and A-Train Productions singer Magaly provided entertainment.

Joining them were two members of the 1960's musical group, the Limelites.
As the sun goes down and the preparations continue, people start to settle in for the film. Prior to the movie, Parks representatives handed out bags of popcorn to youngsters who were in attendance.

Mumble, Happy Feet's tap-dancing penguin, would have been proud as singer Magaly got a group of children up and dancing prior to the film.
Once the sun went down and the movie started, all eyes were on the screen.
The park becomes a movie theater as people sit on folding chairs and blankets for the first movie to be shown in Far Rockaway since the 1970's.
