Another Vehicle Accident On Cross Bay Boulevard
A transport van stopped for a red light on the southbound side of Cross Bay Boulevard near the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge was rear-ended on Monday night by an Audi that eyewitnesses said was traveling at a high rate of speed. Both of the unidentified drivers were transported to local hospitals, where they were treated and released, officials say. The Broad Channel Volunteer Fire Department was the first on the scene and transported one of the drivers to the hospital.
The driver of the Audi receives medical attention shortly after the 7:15 p.m. accident. Only one lane of the three-lane southbound road was left open, causing a traffic jam that went back to the Joseph P. Addabbo Bridge.
The driver of the transport van awaits treatment.
