for larger version       John D.McDermott John D. McDermott, a Rockaway resident for 25 years coming from the Bronx, died July 26. McDermott, a former tunnel worker and Local 580 ironworker, was born in Manhattan. He was a former resident of Highbridge, New York. McDermott was preceded in death by his sister, Mary. He is survived by his brother, Patrick J. McDermott and sister, Kathleen Monaghan.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home, where the visitation was held. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Camillus Church. Interment was at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, New York.
