I just watched the History Detectives on PBS showing an episode about the NC-4 plane. This clicked my memory back to the 1920's when I was taking piano lessons - one of my first pieces of sheet music my teacher assigned me was the NC-4 March! I was about eight years old - I of course didn't know anything about the NC-4 - my father probably did....just knew there was a photo of the plane on the cover. That experience may have been what triggered me to join the U.S. Navy Waves in 1942. In recent years I have thought, if I had my life to live over, I think would learn to fly!
