Robin Shapiro Realty,LLC:
Bringing Former Residents Back Home, Making The Homeowner Dream A Reality

Robin Shapiro wants to make the homeowner dream a reality for those who want to live in Rockaway, including many who have moved away and now want to get back to their Rockaway roots. Shapiro, seen here in her trademark hat in the backyard of a home that she sold recently. She told The Wave that she got a telephone call from a man who said that he wanted to buy the home, sight unseen. The man said he would call again the following Monday with the name and number of his attorney. Shapiro was skeptical. Who would want to buy an expensive home sight unseen? When the man called on Monday, she was surprised. Why, she asked, would he buy the home unseen? He told her that it was his grandparent's home and he remembered it from his childhood. He had been waiting patiently for it to come back on the market. That's how the Atlas family, which had been in the home since 1971, sold quickly to Chris Buckley, the grandson of the Buckley family that was the original owner of the home when it was first built.
Shapiro is a local woman who, she says, goes out of her way to make sure that Rockaway is available to those who want to come back to Rockaway or who are looking for a great place to live.
Shapiro at another of the dozens of homes she has for sale in the west end of Rockaway, many of them with specialized amenities or with little hidden charms. "I have the most complete listings on the peninsula," she says, urging people with real estate needs to give her a call.
Shapiro says that many Rockaway homes have hidden treasures such as the backyard of this Belle Harbor home. Shapiro says that she has dozens of affordable homes and condos for sale and apartments for rent. She can be reached at 718-945-8872 or on the Web at www.robinshapirorealty.com.
