Rockapulco Race Run Ends At The Boardwalk
On the men's side, 17-year old Matt Centrowitz (15:35), who had recently won the 1500 meter race at the Junior Pan-Am Games in Brazil, outran 41- year-old Trevor Murray (16:46) to win the race. Murray, who finished in second, edged out 51-year-old "phenom" Manny Santiago (16:55), from the Westside Running Club. On the women's side, Cristin Mullen (18:47), who had just completed a fine NCAA running career at St. Francis College, glided to a first place victory. In second place, Kathleen Coughlin (19:15) raced very well after recovering from an injury and held off third place finisher Kerri Gallagher (19:54). The former Bishop Kearney track star will begin her college running career this fall at Fordham University.
The Rockapulco Summer Series would like to thank everyone who completed the race and made the event a successful one.
