for larger version       Claire Lehane Claire Lehane, a 50-year Rockaway resident coming from Manhattan, died July 23. Lehane, who was born in Manhattan, was a dietary aide for the New York City Department of Education. Lehane was preceded in death by her husband, William Lehane; son, William Jr.; and brother, Robert Schloemer. She is survived by her sons, Daniel and John; daughter, Kathleen Lehane Cawthorne; sister, Charlotte Brown; grandchildren, Claire Smith, Daniel Cawthorne, Christine Lehane and William J. Lehane III; and greatgrandson, Anthony Smith.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church. Interment was at Calverton National Cemetery.
