The Lone Ranger Rides Again
The following letter was sent to Wave Columnist Emil Lucev. Dear Emil,

I enjoyed your column on The Lone Ranger. Of all the great old radio serials that I remember, I think I liked The Lone Ranger the best. I can't give you the name of the missing ranger, but maybe Raised On Radio, by Gerald Nachman will have it.

Many years ago, I wrote down from memory the text of the program introduction. I think it's pretty accurate. "With his faithful Indian companion, Tonto, the daring and resourceful masked rider of the plains led the fight for law and order in the early western United States. Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear when out of the past comes the thundering hoof beats of the great horse, Silver! The Lone Ranger rides again!"

Of course, the introductory theme music was Rossini's "William Tell Overture," but do you know the background theme during the program was Liszt's "Les Presludes?"
