Please Be Considerate
Dear Editor,

Last Saturday, July 14, I went to see

South Pacific up at the Rockaway Theatre at Fort Tilden.

The performance was great and I would have enjoyed myself thoroughly, except for the audience.

There were the people talking, rattling plastic bags and candy wrappers and many conversations during the overture to the second act. It was hard to hear the music so many people were talking.

When someone was shushed near me, her response was "It hasn't started yet." Indeed the musicians had started and ignoring their contribution to the performance is very rude.

Please remember that the performers and musicians work very hard to bring us these wonderful performances and we should respect them enough to be silent.

VALERIE W. CHRISTOPHER
