Breezy Point Par Tee Golf News

If you do not mind playing golf in the rain, the snow or even during a hurricane, here's a valuable tip: your life is in trouble.

In last weeks' play Meg Ferrick had the best score of 64. Tied with 65 was Doris Neimeth and Peg Ansbro. Right behind them was Honey Ryan with 66. Delores McAleer scored a 68. In the seventies were; Bunny GaNun with 71, Lil Hanratty had 75, Pat Kelly scored 76 and the threesome of Nancy Tutolo, Mildred Seligman and Helen Mele each had 78. Bernice Carroll finished with 79. Honey Ryan and Peg Ansbro Birdies we achieved by. Meg Ferrick had a birdie and a chip-in. Helen Mele had a chip-in and a chip-in birdie. Kathleen Joyce had a chip-in and Peg Ansbro also had a chip-in birdie. Nearest to the pin on hole #1 was Helen Mele and on #18, the winner was Chris Brunner. Mary Sullivan has to be the most improved golfer with a score of 81. Congratulations to all!!!

The Guys and Dolls Tournament will be held on Thursday, July 19 at Riis Park and spots are filling up quickly. For reservations, call Sheila Schaberick (718-945-5231) and/or Mary Ellen Hogan (718-634-1678). The cost is $20 per person which is payable to Par Tee Golf. Check in time is at 8:00 a.m. where coffee and cake will be served. Play begins at 8:30 a.m. with a shot-gun start and the format is a scramble.

From June 8-10, Maureen and Neil Wilson, Diane and Bill Ball, and Suzanne and Bill McDonald celebrated the 65th wedding anniversary of their parents, Helen and Bill McDonald. The celebration was held under the brightly colored umbrellas on the beach in front of their home in Roxbury. Congratulations to Helen and Bill. There can't be a more loved and respected couple in BP!!!
