Breezy Point Par Tee Golf News
By Doris Neimeth

Luella Clark, one of the original Par Tee golf gals, passed away on February 20, 2007. A memorial service for Luella will take place at Christ Community Church on Saturday, June 30 at 12:30 pm.

The family invites all her friends and neighbors to the service and especially the Par Tee Golf Ladies. Luella also made her winter home in Cocoa Beach, Florida for many years.

On June 21 at Riis Park, the following ladies scored well under beautiful blue skies and a slight breeze. Pam Armour, our top notch player, scored a 65 as she was followed by another top notch player, Peg Ansbro, with a 66. Barbara Caramelli and Marge O'Leary scored a 69, Marge had a chip-in on hole #4 and Barbara on hole #6.

The ladies who scored in the 70's were; Nancy Heffernan and Mildred Seligman 70 who also had a chip-in on hole 13, Betty Weed and Doris Neimeth-72, Joan McNally and Bea Sharrock-73 who also made a birdie on hole #6. Joanna Beck and Pat Livingston-75 with Pat having a chip-in on hole #3. Evie McVeigh scored a 79 along with Alice Mateos.

Mary Powers had a chip-in on hole 13.

Marilyn Danese birdied hole 17.

Four of our ladies- Vera Lynch, Peggy Wheeler, Pat Powers and Nancy Muchiro- are playing at the 9 holes. Nancy had a birdie two weeks ago.

In the following weeks we welcome back our Par Tee School Teachers who are finally on summer vacation!

Our after golf luncheons are underway so come and enjoy your turkey, ham or roast beef sandwich. The order is only $5.00. Photos will be taken of our new members at the luncheon.

We also have the 50/50, which was won by Joan Fallon last week;

This is a reminder to the Par Tee golf ladies that the Guys and Gals Tournament will take place on July 19th at the Riis Park.

Admission is $20.00 per person, which includes golf, lunch and prizes.

Get your foursome together soon!
