Old-Fashioned Bathing Suit Contest July 1
Contestants Needed For Riis Park Celebration

The National Park Service continues the 75th anniversary celebration of Jacob Riis Park by sponsoring an Old-Fashioned Bathing Suit Contest on Sunday, July 1 at 1 p.m.

Contestants are invited to dress in bathing suits, like those from the 1890's through the 1930's. The free event is open to men, women and children. Suits do not need to be authentic; modern replicas are acceptable.

Prizes will be awarded for the best bathing suit costumes.

The contest will be held on the boardwalk near the Bathhouse. Contestants may register in advance by calling 718-318-4301, or on the day of the event.
