Rockapulco Summer Races Commences on Boardwalk

The Rockapulco Race Series kicked off last Thursday evening with the Bert Robbins Run. The series, which honors local running legends, features a 1/4 mile kids fun run starting at 7:00 p.m. and followed by a 1 mile race and a 5K (3.1 mile) race. Special awards are given to the children at the conclusion of the race.
The remaining schedule is: The Jose Rodriguez Run on June 14 (Thursday), The John McManus Run on June 21 (Thursday), The Bob Davan Run on June 28 (Thursday), The John Lovitt Run on July 5 (Thursday), The Pat Savage Run on July 12 (Thursday), and The Nellie Duncan Rockapulco Run on July 20 (Friday) with an after-race party. Come join the fun. The kids' fun run starts at 7:00 p.m. There is plenty of free parking on Beach 95th Street, or be environmentally conscious and ride your bike to the start (on the boardwalk at Beach 95th Street).
