Breezy Point Par Tee Golf News
By Peg Ansbro

Golf can best be defined as an endless series of tragedies obscured by the occasional miracle.

Joan McNally aced a hole-in-one and you could hear the roar of approval all over Riis Park. Congratulations to Joan on her second hole-in-one…she also had a hole-in-one 15 several years ago!!

The best score for last week's action on June 7 was a 64 from Peg Ansbro followed by Barbara Caramelli with a tally of 69. Scoring in the seventies was: Nancy Heffernan (73), Marge O'Leary and Joan McNally with a 74, Lil Hanratty had 75, Pam Armour and Alice Mateos with 76, Marilyn Higgins scored a 77, and Kay Miller and Kate Hanratty both had 79.

The ladies had only one chip-in so the big bucks go to Joan Williams on the 13th hole. Birdies were credited to Barbara Caramelli, Peg Ansbro, Kate Hanratty and Ann Lane.

Closest to the pin on #1 was of course our hole-in-one achiever Joan McNally and on the 18th the honor goes to Alice Mateos.

Here are some dates to put on your calendar: July 19th is the Dolls and Guys tournament…..get your foursomes together

September 7 is "Nite on the Green" at the Catholic Club. September 13 is the closing luncheon and it will be held at "Russo's on the Bay".

Bill McDonald from the Catholic Club Senior Men's Golf Club would like to celebrate together and the men reach their 30th anniversary and the ladies commemorate their 25th. That sounds like a great idea!!!

Golfer: "I'd move heaven and earth to break 100 on this course."

Caddy: "Try heaven, you've already moved most of the earth."

God Bless. Have a great week!
