Last Tryout Announced For Empire State Games

The last chance to tryout for the New York City Empire State Scholastic Girls team will take place on Saturday, May 19 at 10 a.m. at Bishop Kearney High School, which is located at 2202 60th Street in Brooklyn.

Any New York City high school basketball player who is looking for some competition during the summer is invited to try out for The Empire State Games.

The event, which is the largest multi-sport event for amateur athletes in the nation, will begin on July 25 through July 29 in Westchester County.

NYC will battle against teams from the different regions throughout the state. The high school scholastic girls' team will be led by Breezy Point native and Bishop Kearney High School coach Cathy Crockett and assisted by Dennis Nolan, head coach of Bishop Ford High School.
