St. Virgilius Make Comeback Rally To Defeat OLMM
By John Bil

The Jamaica Bay Little League/St. Virgilius baseball team came on strong down the stretch against Our Lady of Miraculous Medal to win their 9th game of the season, 9-4. The team's record improved to 9-0 and has made some spectacular plays in the field.

The team was down 4 - 1 going into the top of the fifth when St. Virgilius bench players of John Claudio-Bil, Tom Cani, Jack Tubridy and Dom Edison began a four run rally in the 5th inning.

St. Virgilius would take a 5-4 lead as starting pitcher Steven Trudden, Matt Gerike and Anthony (Lights Out) Ciambrielo shut the door on the opposing team for the rest of the game.

With OLMM threatening to score to the game at 5, St. Virgilius outfielder John Galimi made a spectacular play to throw out the tying run at home.

St. Virgilius' Keith Harnisher, Steven Ellis, Anthony Cani, Matt Holgate, Tomas Krohn, Johnny Wagner and Jayson Edison all helped the team with the win.

The next home game is on Saturday, May 19 at All American Fields at 10 a.m.

Hope to see you there.
