Man Shot At Redfern Playground
Police officers and detectives from the 101 Precinct in Far Rockaway check out the playground at 14-56 Beach Channel Drive in the Redfern Houses complex, looking for evidence in the shooting of an unidentified male who suffered a gunshot wound in the left leg. Police could not find a victim at that location after responding to numerous "shots fired" calls, but he turned up at St. John's Episcopal Hospital minutes later. The automobile that took him to the hospital was impounded and the two young women in the auto were questioned about the shooting. While blood was found in the playground, police sources say there was no other forensic evidence found at that location.
