Local Spends Spring Break With Habitat For Humanity

Kate O'Sullivan, a Rockaway Beach resident an member of the class of 2009 at Providence College in Rhode Island, recently spent a week working with Habitat for Humanity as part of the international organization's "Collegiate Challenge: Spring Break 2007."

O'Sullivan was among 100 Providence College students who volunteered to spend their spring break working at Habitat home sites in seven states. They participated through the Habitat campus chapter at the college, which is sponsored by the chaplain's office. O'Sullivan worked on a home project in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Founded in 1976, Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit housing organization that builds and rehabilitates simple, affordable houses in partnership with those in need.
