World Champion Karate Center Excels at Metropolitan Championships

March 25th was a busy day for World Champions Tournament Team as the Elmcor Center in Corona was the scene of the 15th Annual Metropolitan Karate Championship by AAU Karate.

More than 250 athletes from the five boroughs, Long Island, upstate New York, Connecticut and Philadelphia participated in Kumite (sparring), Kata (Forms), and Kobudo (weaponry).

All of the World Champions Team earned at least one or more first place, second place and third place trophies. The success of the team lies in consistent hard work and dedication, which was exhibited by six year olds Isaiah Hernandez and Joshua Francis all the way to the national champion Justin Pine.

The entire team is all thumbs up this year which includes senseis, parents, coaches and the referees. The World Champions Karate Team would like to congratulate the team for their performance. Next week, the team will compete in the Regional Results Tournament in Albany. People can visit the Dojo at 112-20 Beach Channel Drive where we have been training for 35 years.
