Johnson Twirls First Place Honors In Talent Competition

Allison-Frances Johnson, age 10, of Belle Harbor won first place honors for the fourth year in a row in the twirling event at the Star Power National Talent Competition held last weekend at East Islip High School in Long Island.

Johnson also received a platinum medal for winning the first place trophy and an invitation to participate in the Power Pak Dance Tour.

Johnson placed first in the 9-10 year old vocal category and for highest scoring vocal performance. She will compete in the Eastern Seaboard Twirling Association Championships in May.

Johnson's teammates in the Levittown P.A.L. team won first place in the baton twirling competition. Johnson twirls, dances and sings under the guidance of Michelle Deery and Arlene Martin of the Levittown P.A.L., Ergin Akif of Brooklyn Music House, Igor Osachiy of the Brooklyn Gymnastic Center and Jodi Timpone, Nancy Kovin and Annie Schneider of Belle Harbor.
