Rockaway Goes Lacrosse Crazy At Aviator

Aviator Sports and Recreation Complex and the Long Island Lizards attracted 130 kids to participate in a free youth lacrosse clinic last Saturday afternoon at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn.

Members and coaching staff of the Long Island Lizards, who play in Major League Lacrosse (MLL) instructed the children on the many aspects of the game.

High school teams such as the defending Public Athletic School League champions Midwood Hornets and the Beach Channel Lady Dolphins lacrosse team attended the event. The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) lacrosse club, the Rockaway Sports Association, the Brooklyn Admirals, and the I.S. 323 Scholars Academy also received instructions from the Lizard players.

Dave Kotwoski, the president of the Long Island Lizards announced that they will be hosting a summer camp in July at Aviator Sports to provide a complete intensive training program.

Those camps take place from July 23-27 and August 13-17 for boys and July 30 to August 3 for girls. Camp hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Aviator Sports will be offering a variety of summer sports camps in the months to come. For more information, log onto www.aviatorsports.com or by phone at 718-758-9800.
