Teens Busted For Far Rockaway Stabbing
By Howard Schwach

Two local teens were arrested on April 16 for a viscous assault on two men in Far Rockaway.

Police say that Dwayne Obee, 18, of Gateway Boulevard and Johnny Colon, 17, of New Haven Avenue were collared by police officers from the 101 Precinct only fifteen minutes after they assaulted and robbed two men on New Haven Avenue near Beach 20 Street at about 10:15 a.m. on Monday morning.

Police say that the two men walked up to the younger victim, later identified in court records as Dominick Neftelberg. Court records say that Obee said "What do you got for me," and when Neftelberg did not respond, Obee pulled a folding knife and stabbed him four times as he snatched his neck chain.

Colon allegedly whacked the teen with a cane and then turned it on the older victim, identified in court records as Giron Emerson.

Both victims were treated and released at St. John's Episcopal Hospital.

Both Obee and Colon were arraigned on April 18.

They were charged with robbery in the first degree, attempted robbery in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon.

Bail was set for each at $15,000. As of press time, neither man had made bail.

Their next court date was set for

May 2.
