P.S. 106 Hosts First Street Fair This Saturday
By Miriam Rosenberg

Beach 35 Street, between Rockaway Beach Boulevard and the boardwalk, will be alive with activity on Saturday as P.S. 106 sponsors its first street fair.

The street fair will feature carnival games and rides such as a pirate ship and bouncers as well as P.S. 106's very own "American Idol" competition.

"Kids will perform and we will select an idol," said Joy Bunch, the parent association president at the school.

In addition, Stan's Pepper Steppers will perform and a karate demonstration is scheduled.

Bunch said food would be available for purchase, an auction will take place and - just so there is still a theme of education with the street fair - the Queens Library Book Mobile will be there. The P.S. 106 Street Fair will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning and end at 5 p.m. The rain date for the event is Sunday, May 5.
