Stan's Pepper Steppers Leap To DD Title

A packed house gathered to watch the Sorrentino Recreation Center host the 27th Annual Rockaway Double-Dutch Championship on Saturday, April 14.

Double-Dutch teams arrived from all five boroughs and Hempstead, Roosevelt, Bellport and Suffolk County to compete in the novice (grades 3-12) and the advanced (grades 3-12) divisions. There were 150 double-dutch jumpers and spectators in attendance.

Stan's Pepper Steppers high school team dazzled the gymnasium by with their speed and freestyle routines to win first place in the advanced division.

The Sorrentino Center novice teams placed first, second and third throughout the novice grade division. In total, the Sorrentino Center won first place trophies in eight out of the fourteen novice and advanced divisions.
