The Frederick Douglass Academy VI High School lacrosse team are preparing extremely well for the up coming spring season, which will begin in a few weeks. This Saturday afternoon, the FDA Falcons will be practicing with the Long Island Lizards of the Major Lacrosse League at the Aviator Sports Complex.

The Rockaway Sports Association, and FDA's community sponsor J&M Pizza, have chosen Keith Watson Jr. and Rene Paz as the RSA student-athletes of the week.

Greg Carter, President of the Rockaway Sports Association believes that Watson Jr. and Paz will be two tremendous college students in the near future. According to Carter, he says they have become outstanding community representatives for the Rockaway peninsula. Carter says that the Frederick Douglas Academy staff fully expresses the virtues of achieving high grades to their student-athletes. FDA says they believe it is important to be an outstanding community citizen.

Paz is a great team player and averages a 'B' grade. Watson Jr. is Frederick Douglass Academy's top student-athlete with a 98.4 GPA. Watson has also received interest from the University of Virginia for his excellent performance on the lacrosse field.

The Rockaway Sports Association, FDA's principal Linda Alfred, and the entire school staff are truly proud of these two young student-athletes.
