John Adams stormed back with a late first half goal and a Lizette Veliz penalty kick goal to give the Spartans a 2-1 road victory in a PSAL Queens B matchup. Geffrard scored in the 30th minute to give the Dolphins the 1-0 advantage. Just as the first half was about to end, John Adams got a break. Cindy Lopez pounced on the loose ball, which squirmed away from the hands of Dolphins goalkeeper Tiffany Maynard, and calmly scored to knot the game at 1-1. In the second half, John Adams maintained possession and capitalized in the 20th minute. Veliz was tripped up by Maynard in the goalkeeper's area and the referee awarded a penalty kick. Velez kicked the ball into the top left corner of the net as Adams went up 2-1. The loss was Beach Channel's first of the season as they fell to 1-1. John Adams improved to an undefeated 3-0 record. Softball: Far Rockaway won their first game of the season at home by defeating Campus Magnet, 18-8 on Wednesday afternoon. Jaemali Earle recorded four hits and knocked in 4 RBI and Jaleesa McCrimmon chipped in with 3 RBIa as the Seahorses improved their record to 1-5 (PSAL Queens 1B). Tennis: Gary Passik and Michael Hinds easily outdistanced their opponents in singles matches ad the Dolphins defeated John Adams 5-0. Beach Channel leads the Queens B1 Division with an 6-0 record.
