Nor'easter Brings Driving Rain, Raging Waves

Last weekend's Nor' easter was predicted to be one of the worst in recent history and, even though it didn't meet that billing, it created many problems on the peninsula and left some roads flooded and many beaches severely eroded. The National Weather Service reported that more than 2.10 inches of rain fell in Rockaway on Sunday. Pictured, local residents went to the surfing beach on Beach 91 Street to look at the beach damage caused by the storm. Photo by Doug Macleod. For more photographs, see pages 73 and 74.
