Cops Rushed To Hospital After Hit And Run Accident

A police car on patrol in the 101 Precinct in Far Rockaway was struck by another vehicle at approximately 1:45 p.m. on Monday, leaving the two police officers in the car injured and the other driver on the lam. Information remained scarce at press time and a spokesperson for the NYPD's Deputy Commissioner for Public Information declined to identify the two officers, who were transported to Jamaica Hospital by EMS ambulance and treated for neck, head and back pain. They were reportedly released later that day. Sources told The Wave that the private car involved in the accident fled the scene and was tracked by another police car to Lawrence, Long Island, where the car was spotted behind the McDonald's on Rockaway Turnpike. It is unclear, however, whether any arrests have been made in this case. Pictured, the Radio Motor Patrol (RMP) car parked next to the 101 Precinct on Tuesday.
