Motor Vehicle Accident Sends Woman To PHC

A three-car motor vehicle accident put one local woman in the hospital and blocked off traffic on a major east-west road on Friday afternoon. The accident, right in front of a newly-constructed home at Beach 131 Street and Newport Avenue, the site of the 2001 crash of American Airlines Flight 587 that killed 265 people, sent two cars to the junk heap and one of their drivers to Peninsula Hospital Center. The unidentified woman was reportedly treated and kept for observation at the hospital before being released. Pictured, two of the cars involved in the accident. A flatbed tow truck, rear, begins to remove the Volvo sports utility vehicle.
