Service Changes On A Train

Due to track work, A train service between Jay Street-Borough Hall and Utica Avenue in Brooklyn will be replaced by free shuttle bus service during several weekends. The changes in train service may affect the commute of many Rockaway residents.

There will be normal service over the Easter holiday weekend, April 7 through April 9.

The weekends of April 14-16, April 21-23, April 28-30 and May 5-7 from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday will have changes.

C train service will be suspended, and A trains will make all local stops in Manhattan and Brooklyn, excluding the stops between Jay Street and Utica Avenue.

Local shuttle buses will stop at all closed stations as well as the Fulton Street station. There will also be a limited number of non-stop shuttle buses running between Jay Street and Utica Avenue. Depending on traffic conditions, the shuttle bus trip between those stations should be 20 to 30 minutes.

If riders plan to re-enter the subway, be sure to get a free transfer ticket at the Jay Street, Utica Avenue, or Franklin Avenue stations.

For trains heading to Far Rockaway or Lefferts Boulevard, take the Brooklyn-bound L train to Broadway Junction where you can transfer to the A to Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard or the Rockaways.

Extra L service will operate on those weekends, and NYC Transit employees will be on hand at Jay Street and Utica Avenue to guide customers to the shuttle buses.
