Pepper Steppers Take Top Double-Dutch Honors

Stan's Pepper Steppers, the doubledutch team representing the Sorrentino Recreational Center, won top honors at the Families United Double- Dutch Competition held on March 24 at St. Peter Claver Church in Brooklyn.

Teams representing New York City, New Jersey and Long Island participated in the event.

The Pepper Steppers, coached by Stan Brown, competed in the Advance Division, taking first and second place honors.

The team members are as follows: Laa'Neisha Jones, Katherine Rocha, Alaisyia Woodard, Peter Alvarez, Robeisha Davis, Jessica Berrios, Jasmine Hamlet, Monet Davis, Tarae Walker Nadine Harrison and Destiny Alvarez

In the Intermediate Division, the Pepper Steppers trio of Destiny Alvarez, Jasmin Daniels and Niya Dubose took first place.

Stan's Pepper Steppers gathered first, second and third place honors in the Novice Division: Oksana Bonny, Imini Butler, Takema Bethea, Nikkole Frey, Brianna Murphy, Quianna Brown, Ty-aja Wade, Melissa Nieves and Jayda- Ann Douglas.

The chaperones for the kids was Carol Walker and Kitty Ramirez.
