St.Francis Students Create Websites
Participate In 'Think Quest'Competition

The entire sixth, seventh and eighth grades of St. Francis de Sales School are participating in the 2007 Think Quest competition. Students have formed teams and are currently creating their own interactive, educational websites on Hispanic themes for their Spanish and computer classes.

The students have been creating their own movies using Clay Animation and Flash. They are creating their own animations using Fireworks, their own music using Garage Band, and are authoring their own website pages using Macromedia Dreamweaver and Microsoft Frontpage.

Students are pictured attending a one-day Saturday workshop on website and graphic design sponsored by the ThinkQuest Corporation. St. Francis de Sales has also won four technology grants this year based upon the outstanding work of their students in this competition. An after-school computer club has formed and is being attended by 30 students every week.

Last year, the school had five teams of students named as semi-finalists for junior high students in New York City. The final results will be announced in May 2007.
