NYCHA Meets Fighting Irish Of Notre Dame Lacrosse

The NYCHA Coaches meet Notre Dame Head coach Kevin Corrigan: Left to Right Coach Luis Lopez, Eric Cumber batch, (Director NYCHA City-Wide Sports), Notre Dame Head Coach Kevin Corrigan, NYCHA Lacrosse Director Greg Carter, and Director (Harlem Jaguars) Curtis Fields.
How intriguing would it be to have the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame visit our area? Well, that came to fruition as Notre Dame visited our area at Hewlett High School. The NYCHA Lacrosse All-Stars were personally invited by Notre Dame Lacrosse Head Coach Kevin Corrigan to attend the Notre Dame vs. Cornell lacrosse game last week. A tremendous game along with a beautiful day made for a special day in the lives of the NYCHA All-Stars.

The NYCHA Lacrosse would like to thank Alan Camhi, President of the Rockaway Chamber of Commerce, Kevin L. Pruitt Enterprises and Jim of 116th Liquor for helping with the trip.

Those who read and follow the New York City Housing Authority, (NYCHA) lacrosse program will come to understand that more is going on than meets the eye. Not only are our All-Stars playing in a great program, but all of our participants are involved with our Student Athletic Scholarship Support, (S.O.S.) program that will invariably assist our participants to hopefully obtain college scholarships.

Pictured with Notre Dame Head Coach Kevin Corrigan (middle) are the members of the NYCHA All-Stars.
They will be by meeting personally with NCAA Division I coaches as the S.O.S. uniquely markets our participants. Again, any parent interested in registering their (NYCHA) child in our program may do so at any NYCHA community center.
