RAA Names 'Where Flowers Bloom' Raffle Winners

And the winners are…James Killian and Mary Powers. On Sunday February 18 the Rockaway Artists Alliance announced the results of the drawing held to coincide with their latest exhibition Where Flowers Bloom In Winter.

Over 300 people had attended the January 21 opening reception for the show in sTudio 6 at the Rockaway Center for the Arts (RoCA) at Fort Tilden.

An RAA spokesperson confirmed a steady stream of visitors during the run of this exceptional multimedia showcase.

Taking the honors and the prize of a basketed flower arrangement was James Killian of Rockaway Point.

The prize was donated by Danielle's Rockaway Florist, Ltd.

Though not present for the drawing, Mary Powers, also of Rockaway, won the beautifully framed watercolor Hawaiian Flowers donated by artist Martha Elliot Killian.

Sunday was final day of this highly popular and well attended exhibition.

Where Flowers Bloom In Winter highlighted works in photography, sculpture, painting, drawing, watercolor and even stained glass, quilt and appliqué which unraveled the many interpretations, shades and meanings of the flower common flower.
