Letters
Officers Help Family Through Grief

The following letter was sent to Captain Neacy of the 100 Precinct and also mailed to The Wave.

Dear Captain Neacy,

This is a letter of commendation for Officers Griffith and Caudelaria.

On Thursday, January 18, 2007, during a time of grief for my wife and family (my wife and her brother found their mother, Lucille J. Meade, dead in her apartment at 105-00 Shore Front Parkway), Officer Griffith, along with Officer Caudelaria, exhibited the utmost in professionalism, courtesy and respect to us.

Their actions enabled us to calmly make the numerous arrangements necessary during a very stressful time.

Please extend our thanks to Officers Griffith and Caudelaria, as well as the other officers who responded.

Iraqi Resistance Is Not New

Dear Editor,

As they smashed their way through the city, with the assistance of hired Polish collaborators, the uninvited, unwelcome German troops were bringing enslavement and foreign exploitation, not security or freedom, to the resisting people of Warsaw in 1939. And as they smash their way though the city, with the assistance of hired Iraqi collaborators, the uninvited, unwelcome American troops are bringing enslavement and foreign exploitations, not security or freedom, to the resisting people of Baghdad in 2007.

STEPHEN WOHL

All letters submitted to The Wave, including those sent via e-mail, must contain names, addresses and phone numbers. All letters are subject to editing and publication at the discretion of the editors. The Wave will no longer publish letters in which the name is withheld, unless, in the opinion of the editorial board, there is a compelling public interest to do so.

If you didn't see your letter this week, don't despair. The volume of letters we receive each week dictates that some be held over for the following week.
